The beauty in the ordinary

I took this picture this morning of a spider’s web outside my window, frozen and silhouetted against the blue sky. I thought of Einstein’s words:

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.

Sometimes, the beauty inherent in the ordinary, takes my breath away….

  1. Beautiful picture! I agree. We search far and wide for beauty and miss what’s right in front of us. (and I’m thinking you could substitute a lot of things for “beauty” in that sentence).
