How to survive a flu epidemic



Earlier this year,  at the outbreak of swine flu, the Times Archive Blog posted a series of advertisements from their advertising archive, such as the advert printed in the Times, 1928, recommending the  Thermega electro-radiant blanket, “a new device which airs, dries and warms a bed completely and without any danger whatever of overheating or other electrical accident. IT CANNOT GO WRONG.” Other advice ranges from drinking ovaltine to taking hot mustard baths.
